Fashion: 1970s lapels flairs and bell bottoms galore

Bell bottom pants made there way from the 1960s into the 70s becoming bigger, more voluminous in flair, from glamorous to everyday work style attire, Bell bottoms were a fad for everyone everywhere. bold sharp and patterned not to mention very colourful made in polyester for a crisp straight styled flair and completely unisex.

the main representers of the style were the stars Sonny and Cher.

designers tend to draw inspiration from the 1970s style in a more subtle way, often via silhouette and crisp polyesters, such as: Veronica Etro, Karl Lagerfield, Marc Jacob, Derek Lam

David Bowie was another huge influence, though with a different mood in his style, still favouring the crisp polyester flairs he went for me tailored and fitted looks with a touch of drama to match his colourful character and performance

Bowie worked with many London tailors to create a personal look to match his style, his onstage costumes even more whimsical,a slight dash of "punk" both of which have further inspired other designers, such as Givenchy, JPG, Chanel
