up early and headed to the bus station paying 45 for a ticket to leshan, would have taken about 2 hours but the traffic was heavy and took around 3 from 新南门汽车站. It was over 30' when we arrived not a cloud in the blue sky!
We decided not to do the climb as not only was it expensive and would use up More time it would be packed with people. Instead, for 70 we took the short boat cruise all having to adorn ridiculous life jackets (bright orange gloriousness of course) 救生衣 i had passed malik his not realizing that I was giving him a kids one hahaha. It hung on him like boobs. We got him to change after taking a hilarious video of course ha.
We went up to the top deck first so nabbed good places: karin and I got speaking to a guy from Tibet 西藏 he looked a bit different and recommended Tibet not later than October not earlier than may as it's so cold most places are shut.
The huge carved Buddha is 71m high 乐山大佛 at the bottom of his feet meets the 3 different rivers - yellow/red/brown which all converge into the one. We did a return stop and got some good group pics, to climb it would have been madness, the climbs up and down were packed with people queueing and would therefore make the experience far from Enjoyable though they seemed to regulate how many could come to the base at a time making pics possible.
After this we chilled at the shaded wharf 码头 more secluded as you took steps down to it. We chilled with beers and music before heading back to the bus station calling to 沃尔玛 for food and wine of course!
We got taxis to the entrance area of 峨眉山 is was dark by now so no climbing/mountain entering. Try as we may we could not get somewhere with tents for camping 帐篷 and the hostels were full or expensive. We nearly stayed in an huge disgusting room for a huge sum but decided yolo the weather is good let's sleep outside at the local university haha. No candles could be found and pengge and Liu went to stay somewhere and was, karin, me,malik, Carmen and chenjin. We found a lit up temple area, inside behind the light up board we couldn't be seen, perfect (though plenty of cockroaches about) haha. We had bought 雨衣 laying them in the ground with some blankets we had a picnic alcohol feast with Music and live at the apollo haha. We maybe got 3

Hours sleep. Id started off sharing a bench with karin but got my place nabbed when I went to the Loo. Up at 4.30 am meeting pengge, the adventure started with necessary stop for hot water for caffine before walking in the dark for 2km to get our tickets in the main building. Karen had left her card back at home so lined up twice using Carmen's so ended up only 50.
Stupidly I thought the mountain was doable in 1 day....maybe if you had a lot of time and took the bus (extra cost of course) it's not possible but students who want climb.... 3000m is a bit of a push, especially when malik had to catch a flight...we got to nearly a 1000m though
there was a beautiful temple which I thought was full of chanting monks...but of course it was a recording.

An old Chinese lady tried to sell us a stick for climbing which I told her we didn't want cos we were young, she then turned into a bitch and started saying we weren't welcome cos we were foreigners, the guys were like wtf....old people.,,, there was a random tree with a sign as one of the first sights, named the 'Donald duck tree' 唐老鸭 in no way at all did it resemble him.
