FASHION: Lizzie Agnew Bridal Design

The past few months seem to have flown in, I have learnt so much too, the Dutch girl Renee has left and we now have two new interns, an Asian girl, Rachel, from England, and a French Canadian; Louise. Louise is very skilled whereas Rachel is a textile student hoping to learn something else.

I've burnt myself countless times steaming skirts, presses lots of seams, cut out bodices, hand sewn, used the terrifying industrial machines and somehow managed to harm myself weekly, from updating the facebook and plugging in the laptop, falling and pretty much giving myself a black eye; to bruising my leg on the corner table outside the store, countless cuts on my fingers and even a dent from a glass shelf, I am quite the careless ditzy stereotype blonde at times. But apart from the injuries I have been learning a lot and enjoying my time spent here.

I've been being very creative with tulle; making veils, huge skirts to go over a hoop skirt (7 layers of tulle 2 of which were gathered, a net layer and the lining, all for a wedding in the summer in Portugal, WARM!) and creating lots of flowers in all different styles and sizes to make head pieces and for some new dress designs.
Although a sometimes tedious job it can be quite relaxing as it's quite simplistic to do.

I've created sequin embroidery designs to cover skirts and created huge pleats for circle skirts. Learnt so many tricks and finer touches. Much more than I ever did at uni!
