TRAVEL:JAPAN - NARA, ISE SHIMA & TOBA

SUNDAY 3RD JULY
NARA 奈良

The place was huge! so many different areas with walks, temples and of course LOTS AND LOTS of deer. we sat in the shade - in a heavy mist of DEET spray (red is obsessed with preventing getting bitten after her last trip to Asia)we'd made some sandwiches etc the night before, found a nice spot and had a pack lunch in a forest like area, surrounded by nature very relaxing and peaceful with the animals

under the shade of a tree ( I wanted sun and unfortunately ended up on a load of itching ants) we then went to check out the museum/ art gallery with free exhibit on buddhist art, set in a beautiful English country house manor,  there seems to be much more of a European influence here in Japan (perhaps due to after the war with the American influence) from here we passed another temple before checking out the local area surrounding the park, and checking out the small town/shopping area. I like the place, its rather chilled. We got the train back soon after and made a slow walk back to our flat. nice day, but boy, a hell lot of walking!

MONDAY 4TH JULY

ISE SHIMA & TOBA

getting the train to UJIYAMADA - ISE -JINKU or KOTAIJINGU-NAIKU. This place compared to the last was slightly more interesting, again, wooded, but the trees rose up high like ancient wooden skyscrapers. Ryan FINALLY got a call about his luggage, it should get sent to us soon!

we went on to another spot, having decided that the famous rock link bridge was a bit awkward to get to, we decided to get a train elsewhere, to TOBA, to the pier and watch the sunset, it was also relaxing and beautiful, and it seemed that not a soul was around. unfortunately didn't see any dolphins though. we were however a tad freaked out by all the warning signs for tsunami's. we have it easy in the uk really yet moan we shall about the rain! ha . we bumped into a little old local lady who chittered away to us in Japanese, she realised we were siblings we all sort of got the gist of each other with body language and rep's broken Japanese was so cute and nice! got the train soon after and even though we were quite far out and it took a while (ryan however brought the pocket wifi from the room VERY HANDY) we made it back in time to even get the metro!
