FASHION: MET GALA 2017 HIGHSTREET VS COUTURE

MET GALA 2017 HIGHSTREET VS COUTURE

Of course there are the usual couture and atelier designs. high end and beautiful. but this year we also see some high street company designs hitting it big at the event, high end designs high street brand names.
ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE
INNOVATION. REACH FOR THE STARS. DONT SETTLE.
BIGGER AND BETTER.
ITS THE LITTLE PEOPLE THAT BACK UP THE BIG. don’t forget!
so yes, maybe you are wearing versace….but who was it designed by ?
appreciate the small unnamed designers. they work a hell of a lot harder than the ones with the name. #designerlifeproblems
BUT YOU GOT TO START SMALL TO MAKE IT BIG!
question is…..which designs do you like?
the big famous name? or the retailer?
I’m really liking what the toyshop and h&m styles were to be honest. overall a fan of their designs for the gala. whereas some of the bigger names were disappointing.
#itsnotallaboutthelabel
ALSO PLEASE NOTE…. the ones seemingly lacking in material look a bit trashy to me. nudity in fashion needs to be done gracefully and skillfully i think. but maybe thats just me. too much skin leaves little to the imagination and lacks allure. but just my opinion…
VERSACE
thumbs up from me. they really like the see through look though..not for a night out with gran thats for sure

RALPH LAUREN
loving the first and second designs. but the final two i really dislike. the shapes are odd and unflattering

OSCAR DE LA RENTA
i really like this designer usually but, not this time. his designs are poorly shaped and resemble crumpled flowers…or body hair? not shape flattering. and the stars don’t seem to be he fans either by the facial expressions eh?
DIANE VON FURSTENBURG
her designs were seen on quite a few celebrities. not a hugely renowned label. i like her designs just not the hugest fan of the color choice (yellow) for the lace. not the most complimentary for her, the dress and her skin tone i think. but a nice dress especially for her age. i love the red dress. its fantastic. id wear it in several colors haha
TOP SHOP
i love the first two dresses here. the final is also well done, a modern twist on a 20s flapper dress. the other two are ok. more casual in feel. not amazing but not not unattractive. wearable for a lot more events
H & M
their designs are great for curvy fingers, but they also designed well for a slimmer model. colors and materials go well together and suit the celebrities too, unlike Oscar De La Renta’s dresses the flowers aren’t so over the top and go well in the design, maybe the 2nd dress in fact my favorite.
