MOALBOAL
Moalboal has 2 main areas, the inner city area with the bus stop, supermarket, banks, school and promenade, and the area were everyone stays with beaches, bars and diving. we stayed in this section, about a 7 minute walk from the beach area
the next day I went with Chnny who had rented a scooter to visit some of the nearby waterfalls. again it was hot and sunny. a great feeling in January as I had left cold Shanghai with a temperature of around 5 whereas it was around 30*
CAMBAIS FALLS
We first headed to cambais falls, we used google maps, it took us up a difficult steep path that was getting.a lot of maintenance work done so it was a slow an awkward ride up, though for the return path we went the other way which was a lot smoother as a lot of the work had already been done.
when we finally got there, there was a couple of make shift stalls made by locals, Chnny and I shared a HUGE fresh coconut. she had to put the excess coconut water in cups for us and even scoped out and sliced the coconut flesh for us
set in a private jungle like setting, it was worth the awkward and more difficult journey to get there, it was more special.
KAWASAN FALLS
after this on our road back we stopped at Kawasan falls, this spot is more touristy and was very busy, its a popular spot for canyoneering. it was late afternoon at this point so the wasn't much sun in the area, but it was cool watching people jump into the waterfall on their canyoneering cause, it looked really fun!
we headed back to our hostels, seeing a poster for Sunday cock fights in a nearby farm, a popular event with the locals. the next morning I chilled on the beach for a while before getting a bus to Cebu.
